Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My co-teachers and I teach a 3rd grade ICT/ENL class in a Title I-funded public school in New York City. Most of my students come from Hispanic backgrounds where Spanish is the dominant language spoken at home. My students are always excited to learn new things. They face challenges in learning the English language; however, they have the willingness to learn and do their absolute best every day.

As an ELL teacher, I get the opportunity to work with my students for multiple years and I always love to see the growth in their academics from year to year.

As we approach the midway point of the school year, we are starting to run out of supplies so we are in need of dry-erase markers, pencils, and binder clips to hold student anchor charts in place. We are also in need of colored copy paper so that more resources can be created for student use.
