I am a K-5 Learning Support teacher. All of my students have learning disabilities and come from low-income households. Working in a large, inner-city school district means that many of my resources are outdated and culturally irrelevant. I love to teach to my students individual needs by creating resources that are specifically tailored to them. They also need a lot of repeated practice due to their low working memory.
With colored paper, laminating sheets, and a book binding machine, I will be able to make engaging, reusable workbooks for my students to use over and over again.
My students desperately want to learn and grow but because of limited resources, they are often uninterested in the materials we have.
Studies have shown that for struggling readers to have a chance at making real progress, the materials need to be interesting and engaging. Please help me spoil my students with colorful, reusable, interactive workbooks!
