Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I refer to my students as Diamonds. They are all bright and shiny but each is different and unique in their own special way. My classroom is very diverse. It is made up of students of a multitude of different ethnicities, including African American, Hispanic, Caucasian, and Asian American. They all come from a low socio-economic backgrounds.

Most of my Diamonds live with grandparents, other family members or some are homeless and in transient.

Despite their struggles and adversities my students are going through, they always show up to school with a smile on their face. They love school and are always ready to learn.

Their parents or guardians can't afford to purchase school supplies when they are having a hard time putting food on the table. It is my mission to provide them with what they need to be productive in their educational journey.

My class is in desperate need of basic supplies. We need pencils for writing for every subject. They need crayons to color and for graphing. My students also need to feel comfortable when they create themselves. That is why we have the multicultural paper cutouts. I would also like to remind everyone that we welcome everyone. That is why the diversity posters will be great for our classroom. The hot glue sticks would help me hang up my students' work. The students need their own glue sticks for making crafts. We need these materials for everyday use and to be academically successful throughout the school year.
