Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not the primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.
My students show up to school excited and ready to learn!
It is my goal to help my students not only reach the next reading level, but to keep my students motivated to learn.

My Project
These basic classroom supplies will be used in various ways in my classroom. The labels will be used in a few ways which is why our classroom is requesting a few different sizes. The labels will be used for name tags in general and for our workbooks. We have also learned that labels can fix any paper or mistake in our classroom. The double sided tape is an essential tool for our interactive notebooks in reading. Even though I teach 5th grade, my students are very much into earning stickers. These stickers are perfect for our classroom because they are paw print stickers which goes with our school mascot, a panther. The overhead transparency markers that I am requesting we use every morning and afternoon for announcements for the school to hear. The markers will help us continue to fill out the important daily information shared over announcements to keep our school informed of lunch, recess, birthdays, and so much more. The staples and construction paper will help us continue to display our work on the walls for all to see.
The supplies in my classroom can make all the difference in how I teach my students.
These may be basic supplies to some, but to our classroom they are necessary everyday supplies that our classroom uses to enhance our learning.
