Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 22 sweet children in my third-grade classroom. They range in ethnicity, culture, language, and much more.
Most of my children come to me stricken by poverty.
They live in rough neighborhoods where they walk on dirt floors and often have no running water or electricity. However, more often than not, living like that is much better than life in the countries they migrated from. Most of their parents do not speak the English language, and some parents are still residing in other countries, such as Haiti or Guatemala. The thing I love about my students is that they never give up---they keep on trying,
While I cannot do much to change the home lives of my students, I can try my best to instill in them the goal of a better life for tomorrow.
My Project
There are supplies that are essential to every classroom. This project hits a little bit of them all! To begin with, the disinfecting wipes are crucial to keeping classrooms clean and children healthy right now. Next, the pipe cleaners and beads will be used for phonemic awareness activities. Each student will be able to have their own! Lastly, the paper will be used to print resources for both whole group and small group instruction.
Everything in this project will benefit students in multiple ways.
From keeping kids healthy to promoting reading, this project has it all!
