This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

One of my favorite quotes by Walt Disney is, "If you can dream it, you can achieve it!". This famous quote is what my fourth grade leaders believe in. They know that they create their own destiny and if they believe in themselves they can do anything they set their minds to.

My students are a group of highly motivated fourth graders who go above and beyond everyday in school to reach their academic and personal goals.

They know that giving up is not an option and if they want to succeed they must work hard. I proudly teach in a Title I school that educates students to be leaders of tomorrow. I teach my students how to be leaders from the first day of school. Part of being a leader is being organized and prepared with the appropriate learning tools. It has been a challenge providing my students with the materials they need in class to be organized and prepared when our budget for classroom supplies for the whole year is only $100.

My Project

My students will use the dry erase markers on their personal whiteboards to solve math problems and respond to questions asked by the teacher during direct and guided instruction. They will be able to organize all their work using the color-coded folders, colored file folders, and sheet protectors. The new pencils, erasers, paper, post-its, and highlighters will provide my students with the basic tools they need in order to learn.

Organization is a life-long skill that will follow my students' throughout their education and beyond.

Many of the items will help to organize my student's desks. Students are less stressed when they have an organized work area and have the proper supplies needed to learn. Every single one of the items I have asked for will benefit my students on a daily basis.
