Since most had never used woodworking tools, their reactions were a mix of caution and interest. \r\nThe ChompSaws offered a safe way to work with recycled cardboard and new materials, giving students opportunities they hadn't experienced before. We used them in an art activity where students sketched and built small standing animal models, practicing measurement, cutting, and design. \r\nOne student who often hesitates with hands-on work completed her first cut and noted that using a real tool made the project feel achievable. Many shared similar reflections, appreciating how the tools connected planning to building. \r\nNext, we'll continue using the ChompSaws in art exploration and fifth-grade prop making, allowing students to test ideas, revise designs, and build confidence through hands-on learning.
