Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a sixth-year teacher at a Title I school who teaches a loving and energetic group of kindergartners that are eager to learn. The majority of my students come from low-income families who face socioeconomic disadvantages. All students at my school site receive free breakfast, snack, and lunch based on the average family's income. It is my goal to take away some of the stress these children come with by creating an inviting and fully supplied learning experience each and every day.

My Project

My students must keep up with their organization skills to become independent and responsible learners. We use zip-lock bags for everything, we store all kinds of things from crayons to small cutouts. The bags are an important essential in our classroom, students have learned to keep their materials organized and separated for easy access. With the donations we will have enough for each student to have a bag for every different manipulative and some more for them to take home. With the Valentines gift I can reward the class for being great students and show them how much I care about them for being great learners.
