Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with a group of dedicated, hard-working, eager-to-learn sixth-graders from low-income backgrounds; many of whom come from single-parent homes, while some live with grandparents and/or relatives. Many of my student population come with IEPs which require individualized interventions to help all students succeed. This comes with varying levels of learning challenges and more effort on my part to keep them engaged as often as possible.

When expectations are set high and excuses are left at the door, success is a requirement as opposed to an option.

My Project

I am looking to support my students in every way possible. The pencils are to ensure that they have the necessary tools to succeed each and every day in class void of the financial stresses that can be brought upon by the need to purchase school supplies. The magnetic whiteboard sheets will be used to realize how truly important it is to stay organized and keep orderly lists to feel accomplished each and every day. Last but not least, the brooms/dustpans will be used to ensure that we keep our classroom environment clean as a team.
