My students are determined, energetic learners with a passion to explore and grow. Despite the hardships they face, my students walk into the classroom each day with big smiles ready to learn!
My school is an inner-city school with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
Many students live in poverty, struggle with the English language and have extremely limited resources. Some of my students are homeless or in foster care. Others are new to the country, while some live with a caretaker other than their parent.
My Project
It’s hard to believe we are half way through the school year! That half way point means school supplies are dwindling.
My students would benefit from updated school supplies.
The folders and notebooks will be used for homework. The expo markers will be put to great use when the students are using their slates and playing math games. The name tags will replace the worn tags that are currently on the desks. The individual fraction number lines will be most helpful as we begin a unit on fractions. The chart paper will be used to create anchor charts that are displayed in the classroom as guides for students. The pencils, erasers, and sharpener will help the students always be prepared for class.
