Supplies for Success in Kindergarten!

Help me give my students brand new school supplies for success, such as, whiteboards, pencils, erasers, dry erase makers, note cards, and baggies.

My Students

The students at my school are from a rural farm community in Indiana. We have a small school at the edge of a large corporation. Our students come from all socioeconomic backgrounds. We are lucky to have great families that work hard and are involved in our school events, but we don't get a lot of extra funding from the state because our school does not qualify as a Title I school. Title I schools have a higher level of students that qualify for free and reduced-price lunches than we currently have.

My sweet kiddos are hard workers, but they have lots of extra energy and thrive during hands-on activities.

We try to keep moving around our classroom several times throughout the day to help with this. I also have tried to incorporate a flexible seating environment to keep their little bodies wiggling, while engaged in learning, while at our seats. We have had a lot of success when we use hands-on manipulatives and activities.

I love to provide learning opportunities that will get my students moving, thinking, and stimulating their learning by creating.

My Project

This project will get all my students the supplies that they need to start off our school year. This is one less burden on families during the expensive back to school season and I also get exactly what we need that is the most useful for my little kindergarten kiddos. We can never have too many pencils and the Ticonderoga truly are the best and made to last, plus some Pink Pearl erasers. We will have a new set of whiteboards that will be used for many years to come, dry erase markers, and dry erase erasers. Then the baggies are great for storing our Reading Cards which are our kindergarten high frequency words, paper stories, and so much more.

These supplies are truly needed and will be used by all my students throughout the year.

By providing these resources it gets us just what we need and takes a financial stress off of our families. I also send home a set of school supplies to our families, so they have everything they need for any special assignments, practice, or if remote learning is needed for snow days etc. Fingers crossed we will be in person and not need these supplies for an extended time period again this year, but they will have what they need at school and at home.
