Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I school, which means a majority of our children come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school district, like many others, has had budget cuts in the past few years which has greatly impacted the supplies I am able to provide for my classroom. However, my students are eager and hungry to learn!
Every year I begin with new students who need supplies, unfortunately our families are unable to provide their kiddo's with these things.
They are very young first graders and will need these basic supplies in order to find the magic in learning and help them to meet their basic learning needs In order to have all of their needs met, I'd like to find a way to allow them to get what they need in a way that shows them that the world and community care about their education.
With your help and donations we can give these kiddos the tools that they need in order for them to meet their grade one learning needs and goals.
My Project
I teach 20 first grade students. This year many of my students need work to be modified and brought to their learning level and abilities. The items chosen were to help meet the different needs in my classroom through play based experiences. Please help me to give the kiddos in my class who need extra support the things they need in order to be successful.
By using hands on items like puzzles, magnets and sequencing cards my special education students will be able to have a hands on experience with their learning and be able to work in groups with peers explains their thinking.
This will give them a deeper level of understanding concepts they are learning about, while keeping them engaged. Thank you.
