Kindergarten is a time of huge academic growth. My students are engaged all day with various academic and social activities. When you can keep it fresh by incorporating a variety of resources, they thrive in their learning. This year, I will again have a group of energetic, eager learners that will come to school with a variety of academic and social needs.
My school has a very diverse student population, representing many different cultures.
Nearly seventy percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My classrooms represent many different ethnic groups. This makes for a very wonderful learning environment. Despite their economic hardships, my students come to school every day enthusiastic and ready to learn. I am excited to start this year with a new group of learners.
My Project
With distance learning I am putting together home learning kits to better assist my Kindergarten students better succeed. In order for this year to seem as normal as possible these kits will help with that.
My students need watercolors, play dough, plastic folders, spiral notebooks and book rings to hold all their supplies together.
In the traditional classroom we are able to have some of these supplies be shared with our friends. With students learning from home this isn't possible so they will need you help to have these tools at home.
