Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I can't say enough wonderful things about my students. They are hard-working, creative, kind and considerate. My class loves reading, writing, math, social studies, STEM and learning about the world around them! These kids are eager and ready to learn!
We truly have a diverse learning community within our room.
This allows us to learn from one another. We have a very strong classroom community. My students look out for and care about each other. Thank you for your consideration!
My Project
Even though our entire year has been online, we are reading just as many books as we would in person. My bookshelves at school are filled with books so I will need a new place to store the books that we have read so far. The requested bookshelf will allow me to store the books we read at home and I will then use in it in our physical classroom.
A professional development book I recently read said it is not only essential to teach kids to read, but also to love reading.
This is done through reading together every day. Reading together daily means I have lots of books to organize and store. This shelf will allow me to have a place to keep our books organized for distance learning and then will move into my classroom. The white board with lines will be used during writing time. Thank you for your consideration!
