Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in my class range from a variety of academic levels including many with learning disabilities and emotional disabilities. Differentiating assignments is a necessity for the success of all students. In addition to written assessments, I assign "hands-on" projects that are weighted the same and give tactile-learners an opportunity to achieve success. It allows all students to be creative and express what they've learned.

My students live in a low income/high poverty urban setting and often cannot afford to purchase individual project supplies.

They need these materials to help achieve success without having the stress of not being able to purchase project materials.

My Project

The requested materials will be used by students to help them create eye-catching projects. Students will need poster board to display their work, construction paper and colored pencils to add color, and glue sticks to hold it all together.

My students need these materials to help add a personal touch to their projects and presentations without feelings of, "I can't do a good job on this project because I don't have the money to buy materials."

By providing students with the materials to facilitate their learning, I feel it would take the pressure off of them if they are not able to afford these materials, and help them to succeed.
