Help me give my students supplies in the classroom to keep them healthy (cleaning supplies, tissues, and snacks) and able to complete activities efficiently during class.
My seventh-grade English language arts students are kind, respectful, and willing to take on challenges posed to them. Our students, who live in rural midwest Wisconsin, are hard-working and recognize that technological advances that are available in the industry can enhance their learning experiences. The students I teach desire to be creative and have embraced the idea that showcasing their learning to others, such as parents and community members, creates a more authentic experience. Recently, my seventh-grade students of 60 invited over 130 community members to view and listen to their performances and projects entitled "Day at the Museum". I love that our students embrace learning and are sharing their learning beyond the school walls.
As educators, we are seeking to provide opportunities for our students to experience authentic learning where they are asked to explore critical thinking, creative, collaborative, and communication skills necessary for the 21st century.
My Project
Our classroom is in the midst of the cold and flu season. It is difficult for all students to avoid the germs and bugs that are airborne as well as transported on classroom devices and surfaces. This "Supplies for a Healthy Classroom" project provides necessary supplies used on a daily basis as well as snacks for those who often go without.
We want our students in our classrooms to be comfortable, safe, and feel as healthy and well as possible throughout the school year.
Our hope is this project can support our students through the tough winter months of the school year.
