My Students
87; that is the number of students I have been given the chance to make a difference in their lives this year. My students become my own children every year. I want to see them succeed as if they were my own. I push them to make themselves better learners and believe in themselves.
I want every student to love math the way that I love math.
I don’t want my students to struggle with math the rest of their lives. I want to be able to give them a solid foundation in mathematics so they can continue on their math journey as far as their little hearts desire.
Our school serves K-6 grade students in a caring and enthusiastic environment. 58 percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. We have a high population of military students. I strive to make my classroom a safe place that each student wants to attend each day. Sometimes a classroom can be the best part of a student’s day and I want to be that classroom!
My Project
In today’s world, math can truly be a struggle for some students. I am constantly telling my students' mistakes are proof you are trying! I want to give my students a new fun and engaging way to do their math work. I want to give my students a chance to make a mistake with an easy way to erase it and fix it.

The 10-Inch LCD Writing tablet will give my students a way to learn math like they never have before. These tablets will replace the white boards we currently have very few of and they will be used daily in whole group, small group, and one-on-one settings. My hopes are that the students realize it is okay to make a mistake while learning something new because the mistake can be easily erased and fixed.
The students will also be using these tablets to complete a business project. They will be using the tablets as they pretend to be an entrepreneur who is opening their own business. They will have to gather money from investors and then use their money to buy all the necessary supplies for their business. They will use the tablets as part as their presentation to the investors on why they should invest in their new business. At the end of the project they will also be able to use the tablets as they open their new businesses for their classmates.
