Supervised Agricultural Experiences With Chinchillas

My Project

My Animal Science students take part in supervised agricultural experiences as part of our curriculum. These experiences allow them hands-on learning with the animals they are studying. We have 3 chinchillas, 4 goats, a pig and several hundered fish on campus that students work with daily.

The chinchillas are in need of new housing that is more accessible for them as they age and that will provide the enrichment they need.

Chinchillas are natural jumpers and love moving all over their homes. Their current cages do not allow for the extra platforms and climbing areas chinchillas need. They are also difficult for students to open/close during cleaning and interactions.
