This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are building independent readers who can find high-interest, engaging novels to complete an Independent Reading Project. I am working hard to make my classroom library prove that reading can be fun, and there are many options. Students will have access to this at all times and will be encouraged to read when they are done with work.

I hope to have a classroom area where students can relax, read, and get lost in a good book.

From there, I want to foster a love for reading where students want to interact with the novels creatively. We are moving away from the 5 paragraph essay and encouraging students to demonstrate their learning creatively through one-pagers, diagrams, character biographies, and more!
