This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come to school ready to learn every day! The students in my classroom come from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. They all bring unique talents and perspectives to my classroom, along with unique struggles. But the one thing they all have in common is a drive to learn new things and to experience the world around them in exciting ways.
In order to meet my students varied needs, I incorporate many different types of learning strategies and resources into our classroom.
Together my students and I are learning in unique and interesting ways!
My Project
Students learn best when they are creating and making things to extend their learning, but in order to do this they need high quality supplies.
We need basic classroom supplies so that my students can create masterpieces and so that they can create projects that will help expand their thinking and learning.
In this project, I have asked for crayons in a variety of colors (including skin tones!) so that students can illustrate the stories that they write in their journals and color projects that we create in order to improve both our literacy and math skills.
I also asked for glue sticks because we are always cutting and gluing things so that my students can get hands on learning practice. These basic classroom supplies will help my students to be able to focus on the projects that they are creating and worry about whether or not we have the supplies that they need in order to create.
