Students in my classroom need practice in reading, writing and math on a daily basis. They also need to be able to see anchor charts that display what we have learned in the past to help them be independent learners in my classroom. Having an easel and chart paper in my classroom will allow my students the chance to get the hands on practice that they need and will give us the opportunity to make anchor charts that can be permanently displayed in our classroom. We will use the easel for our daily morning message. In the morning message, students will be able to read what is written, correct grammar and spelling mistakes, underline sight words, check for proper punctuation and look for spelling patterns. We will also use the easel for our daily math message. I will be able to model the strategy for the day and students will be able to work out the problems on their own. We will be using the chart paper to make anchor charts that can be permanently displayed in our classroom. These anchor charts will help students refer back to past learning and use it to help them with their current learning.
