My Students

My classroom is filled with first graders who are excited to explore new ideas every day and learn more about the world! My students are most engaged by beautifully illustrated, engaging books and hands on experiences. My students come to school ready to experience hands on learning and spread kindness. They come from all over the world, speak many languages, and are excited to share what they know with their classmates. I strive to provide exciting, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning opportunities for my students.

My Project

Currently, our school is closed and I am looking forward to next school year, when I am back in my classroom teaching! This project is full of wonderful supplies we will use as we kick off a new school year. We are starting a new science program, so there are toys that will help students imagine themselves as astronauts and learn about sound, as well as books that will help students learn about space and the solar system as well as animal adaptations. Additionally, my current art supplies have been handed down to me from colleagues around the building and are looking worse for wear. I've included fresh paint brushes, fun scissors, people color crayons, and stickers for my creative students to be able to express themselves. I've also included some new books for our classroom library: books with diverse characters, as well as books about emotions and feelings since it will have been several months since my students will have learned in a classroom.

These materials will help my students transition back to school with exciting, hands on resources and engaging books!

I am so excited for next school year when we are back together again! This project will help my students express themselves and reach for the stars. I am looking forward to inspiring my students through new science lessons, creative art time, and books that represent all people.
