This year I have started to teach students in a whole different capacity as the STEM cluster. I will work to incorporate the four disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to bring STEM alive in our school. My students range from kindergarten through 5th grade, and I teach a variety of learners. From students with Special Needs in our Autistic Horizon classes or ICT students to our more independent learners, all students have access to STEM-related activities at all levels when they visit me. My students are excited each day and enjoy a positive project based learning experience each day!
I look forward to listening to the buzzing and chatting in my classroom as students try new strategies, share ideas and work as a team to become problem solvers.

My Project
This project will bring the wonders of sound and music to my students through technology. These light sensor rings are a tactile way for my young learners to discover music.
Specdrums will incorporate the "A "of STEAM learning through educational technology and music composition allowing students at all skill levels to create their own masterpieces with hundreds of instruments, loops, and sounds.
This year I will continue to teach a variety of learners in my STEAM program. I try to incorporate materials that will engage all learners including students with disabilities, Horizon autistic students, other students with special needs as well as my higher-level learners. Specdrums are a unique educational technology that will adapt to each student or collaborative group to accommodate all learners. I look forward to seeing what my imaginative and creative learners can do with Specdrums!
