Super Smart 6th Grade Math Students!

Help me give my students the basics for math so they can focus on learning. A laminator and dry erase pens will help cut down on paper waste while still giving students opportunity to practice!

My Students

My 118 students come from a low socio-economic environment. Many families can barely afford to put food on the table, let alone afford basic supplies such as pencils and paper, uniforms, or shoes. With the impact Covid-19 has had on our local economy, adding in the need for PPE and cleaning supplies has been more than a hardship. I have the biggest group of accelerated students this year, about 40% of my student base, which is tremendous and exciting! They deserve every opportunity to continue succeeding!

My Project

Students will use notebooks and pencils to keep a math journal. They will use scissors and glue to put notes in their journals. Students will have lots of practice opportunities on dry erase sheets that can be cleaned with alcohol wipes, which are in high demand! My kids need the basics. They are super bright and want to learn. I've found ways to engage them in learning, but they need basic tools to work with.

Many of my students are from very poor families and need every opportunity to beat the odds.

These kids are bright and this year I have the biggest advanced group I have ever had - over 40% of my students! 6th grade math is where students either flourish or start falling behind, and I want every one of them to see success!
