My Project

I love that my students are excited about listening and reading stories that I have read to them. My plan is to have students practice reading the books to increase their sight word knowledge which will help them to become strong readers. Sight words are the basis for reading emergent reading text.

By having the sight word books , it will give my students an opportunity and great foundation for being able to read confidently and happily on their own.

In small groups students will read be able to read independently, in pairs and/or in a round robin as a group. These books will help students to follow along , make real world connections, restate the sight word in a sentence using their own words and add in helping them to write sentences using spelling.

All the of the books in our class are at reading levels way above the students reading levels. The books are all read alouds that adults must read to them. Student will be able to take the books home for continued practice with their family. Having the sight words books, would be wonderful and make the students feel proud that they are to be able to read stories to their parents. What great way to build confident ,proud, and lifelong readers.
