My Students

This year, I am teaching a wonderful group of kindergarten students who come to school each day with a smile on their faces, eager to learn! However, my school is a Title I School in a high poverty area. 100% of students receive free lunch. It is my job as their teacher to take on many roles to ensure they receive a quality education and are cared for and loved on a daily basis.

My students love to read, solve hands-on math problems, and use technology!

Most of all, they love to be welcomed into an environment where they feel at home. I am blessed to have students who inspire me and only hope I do the same in return.

My Project

Next year our classroom will be getting a third teacher, or Teacher Resident, from Clemson University! Therefore, we will need an extra small group area for our students. Currently, we do not have any chairs for our new table. These five chairs will allow our students to stay actively engaged in their lessons while at small groups!

Studies show that having flexible seating in the classroom increases students' focus and motivation.

I have witnessed first hand the benefits of using flexible seating and could not imagine not having enough seating options for all of my students when they visit the teacher for small group instruction. Having these seats will greatly impact student learning for the better. I can't wait to see how our classroom environment will soar this year with the addition of these new seating options!
