I teach 2nd grade students with a variety of interests, abilities and goals. My students are enthusiastic children who come to school each day eager to learn. They love hands-on learning that allows them to be actively engaged in the content that is being taught.
Students in my classroom are creative, have a thirst for knowledge and enjoy learning in a variety of ways.
We use many different learning strategies to help each child reach his or her full potential every day.
My Project
Second Grade is a time when kids make huge progress in their reading skills. They are moving from learning to read into the reading to learn stage. A variety of literacy activities that are engaging, meaningful, and that support students in all areas of reading development (PA, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, comprehension) are vital. These literacy activities will be a great tool for students to use independently as well as in a small group setting. They are differentiated so they will meet students where they are whether they need intervention or extension while also allowing students to be actively engaged in their learning.
