Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into school with beautiful smiles and are eager to learn. I want to provide them with the best tools possible to be successful. My school is a dual-language elementary school with a focus on nurturing bilingual, bi-literate and multicultural children.
Many of the students come from very low-income homes, one-parent households, and it is unbelievable the hurdles they have been able to overcome.
With your support, these students will grow up to be bilingual, responsible, and caring community leaders.
My Project
My kindergarteners have super reading and writing powers. They use these superpowers to sound out words, to read, and write sentences.
My students are true superheroes, but even superheroes need their special tools and gadgets to make them even stronger.
That's where we need your help!
We need supplies that will help us enrich our students learning and help them see how much fun learning can be.
Having construction paper, sentence strips, play dough accessories, letter beads and paint brushes will allow us to further our kids learning in a fun and exciting way.
We LOVE to create pieces of art that help us learn. For example, if we learned how to sound out the word cat, we can use the sentence strip to write it, the beads to spell it out, and the construction paper to draw one. Then to take it even a step further, we can use the playdough accessories to make an actual cat.
These materials will really go a long way in helping create fun and memorable experiences for my 51 kindergarteners.
