My Students

My students are caring, energetic, and exhibit a love for learning.

Many of them come from low-income households where a variety of books, technology, and school supplies are limited. During this distance learning, they are adjusting to new ways of learning. Some are bound to using paper/pencil packets during this pandemic. Even so, they are continuing to do their best to participate and stay engaged in learning.

My Project

During the Covid-19 pandemic, my students have found themselves distanced from peers and teachers. Learning from a different approach and lack of a daily routine has been a challenge my students were willing to accept. Parents are active participants in the learning and supportive but many of them will find it difficult to provide camp experiences, materials, and books as this school year ends and summer begins. This project would provide a little "sunshine" for students during the remainder of this year and into the summer break.

With summer on the way, I want to give my students an opportunity to stay engaged in learning and the supplies they need to do so.

I know their creative juices will flow as they make sun catchers, create their own books, and design models with play-doh.
