My students need a hand sanitizer stand, window film, and refills on classroom supplies such as index cards, rubber bands, drawing paper, pens and pencils, dry erase markers, and sticky notes.
This year, I teach 8th, 10th, and 11th graders. We are in a small, rural school in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. My students' interests range from playing sports to participating in drama camp to showing farm animals at the county fair.
I want to provide my students with the best classroom experience possible because they deserve an excellent education in a welcoming environment.
Our school is categorized as highest poverty. All students are offered free breakfast and lunch, and I am thankful that they don't have to worry about what they will eat and instead can focus on what they will learn.
My Project
We are about to start the second semester, and I have a list of basic supplies that need to be restocked. This includes pencils, pens, dry erase markers, rubber bands, sticky notes, index cards, drawing paper, etc. I would love to surprise the students by letting them know that our necessities will be replenished.
Germ season is in full swing, too.
I am requesting a stand for our sanitizer dispenser so students have easy access to hand sanitizer (we already have the pump and refills).
Another item requested is a window covering with a cloud design. This is for the glass pane in our classroom door. Teachers are told to keep our windows covered as a safety precaution in case there is an intruder.
As a final note, I would like to congratulate DonorsChoose.org on getting one million projects funded. This amazing accomplishment was possible because of caring donors like you. Thank you for making a difference.
