This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Hi! My name is Ms. Gilliam and I am requesting snacks for my scholars during our summer enrichment program. Many of our students attend summer school with us and sometimes need an extra nudge of motivation, or food in general as they navigate their long summer days. During our summer program, students spend much time outside, sometimes burning more energy than they would during the traditional school year. We also plan to give students food to take home as needed.

Providing snacks for my scholars would help them to remain on task, focused, and active during their extended summer program, resulting in improved attitudes, higher academic achievement, and academic growth!

My students and I would greatly appreciate these snacks. These snacks would regularly provide our Title I scholars with nutritious, and well-liked food during, and after their summer school enrichment program. A filled belly is an essential element needed to be successful in school! Thanks so much :)
