Summer school is a great opportunity for teachers to make positive connections and build relationships with our students because we get to take a break from regular curriculum and do fun classes with them. I have always enjoyed doing cake decorating with my students, but this year I was asked to have group of 3-5 graders and I decided I want to share another fun hobby of mine, which is Jewelry Making!
I love that jewelry making is all about creativity opportunities it allows for students to have.
It is a way that students can bring in and share their uniqueness with their peers. Since this is a new class, I am looking at building up my base supplies available for students, such as the beads, strings, tools. By having the various style of beads, it gives the students a chance to break away from the traditional pony beads bracelets and necklace and create something that they can be super proud of and captures their creativity.
