My Students

My students are very creative and fun-loving kids. Many come from low-income households and have very diverse backgrounds. My students are from a large, urban community with families from a wide variety of places. They bring so many unique qualities to our school along with great enthusiasm for learning.

My Project

My students have been working really hard doing assignments and projects in Google Classroom. My students would benefit greatly from a summer reading book club that will focus on all of us gaining a better understanding of each other.

This project will provide diverse books so all students will see representation of themselves.

The goal is to meet virtually and have rich discussions on the books selected. With the year being cut short we just weren't ready to say goodbye. This is a way we can still connect and have relevant conversations.

The culmination will be each of us writing and illustrating our own unique books.
