My students need private instrument lessons for the summer months to continue their music education.
This project expired on October 21, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Orchestra students at our middle school are extremely hard workers. Through generous grants and donations they have been able to begin taking private lessons and achieve a high level of playing that furthers their ability and drive to continue perfecting their instrument.
We are a Title I school with 88% of students on free and reduced lunch.
Orchestra students have been given the privilege to take private lessons and have risen to the occasion. Students are practicing more, auditioning for outside orchestras and camps and playing more difficult music.
Students take group classes with Ms. Stewart all summer but also need individual lessons to help them improve their technique and individual playing. Students are held to a very high standard in the Orchestra program and private lessons allow us to continue to raise the bar and expect more of music education.
Private lessons are the fastest way for students to improve their playing because it is a dedicated time when student and teacher get to work, brainstorm and problem solve together.
Students are also getting ready for their yearly All-Region competition, which takes place very soon after school starts. Since this music is challenging, the individual help is very appreciated by the students :)
