Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every year as the summer approaches, I try to find a way to support my students learning and growth throughout the summer. This is typically an end of the year gift that includes a variety of resources and tools for them, and their families to use to continue building their skills and education while on summer break. I have 17 students moving from pre-k to kindergarten who will receive a story about getting ready for the first day of kindergarten. I have 3 students who will return to pre-k and will receive a Dr. Seuss story about the ocean! Materials such as playdough, fidget toys, and crayons, allow the children to have things to do that are still educational while they're on break. Playdough is a great tool for building fine motor skills, sensory toys are great for regulation and keeping kids' hands busy, crayons will allow the students to be creative in their artwork and explore colors, and the buckets is what will hold all these goodies and be gifted to the child to use maybe at the beach or pool! Every year my students are so excited when they receive their summertime buckets of fun!
