My Project

Overtime, we want to improve access to these foods, help students build lifelong eating habits that promote health, and have fun doing so. Kids who know where their food comes from can develop a deeper connection to nature. It helps them appreciate the hard work and natural processes involved in growing food, from planting seeds to harvesting crops. This can foster a sense of responsibility and care for nature, which can carry over into how they treat their environment in other areas of life.

Teaching kids about food production—whether it’s how plants grow, where animals come from, or how food is transported—helps them grasp concepts like resource management, the environment, and the importance of reducing food waste.

By understanding how their choices impact the planet, they may become more mindful about the environment in the future.

Learning about food production challenges kids to think critically about the systems in place. For example, they can learn about the pros and cons of different farming methods, such as organic versus conventional farming, or the implications of fast food on health and the environment. It nurtures curiosity and fosters an understanding of the broader social, economic, and environmental systems.

Overall, Understanding food helps them connect more deeply with the world around them and encourages a mindset that supports sustainability and healthier living.
