Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently teach 24 ESL/Regular education students that are four and five years old. I have several different languages in my classroom. All students qualify for our program by language or income. We are a Title I school in an area highly affected by Hurricane Harvey. Our school community was deeply impacted by Harvey. Many of our families are still trying to recover. My students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Every student is at a different learning level and pace. They are very eager to come to school and they love learning. My students are in need of writing materials that will keep them interested and engaged in their daily activities.

My Project

Help me give my students a variety of storage options for their books and a chart stand to help with creative writing.

The trace and write story will help my students tap into their inner creativity and the write and wipe thin line markers would be an excellent compliment to this activity.

A printer would greatly impact my students' learning as well. We currently have printers in the school but "no ink" has become a real issue. Having a printer in the classroom would make spur of the moment ideas come to life. Some of my students fine motor skills are very underdeveloped and being able to print out a document to enhance their fine motor skills would be nice.
