Each year in my Pre-Kindergarten classroom we take pictures of the students and label everything with their name and picture. Printers are few and far between in our building. Ink is very expensive and goes fast. I would like to have an instant Polaroid camera that prints out pictures right then, so I would not have to wait to print them out when we get ink in or spend my own money to have them printed out at the store. My students can not identify themselves or their belongings by simply looking at their name. They can identify themselves and their belongings if there is a picture of them labeled on the item. One of my favorite projects throughout the year is our "Family Tree". At "Meet the Teacher" night, I take pictures of my students and their families. I hang these pictures on our "Family Tree" and this gives the students a sense of security. They can visit the tree any time of the day to take a look at Mom and Dad if they are missing them. They can also take the picture with them throughout the day. Some of the pictures I have taken already this year are still in the camera. I have not had the time, or money, to print them out. A Polaroid camera would help our class out tremendously. Instant photos!!!
