Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a Title I school. Our students come from a variety of economic backgrounds with over 80% receiving free lunch. Our school is one of the few Spanish immersion schools in the district.
This school year I will be teaching 50% in Spanish and 50% in English.
My students are kids who have English as their second language and they want to continue to develop their native language while learning to speak English, or kids whose native language is English and want to learn Spanish.
My Project
I need resources to help me prepare my students for state testing. I need resources to help them understand how to conduct a science experiment in order to teach the scientific method. After we conduct an experiment in the classroom following the scientific method, my students will conduct their own experiment at home. We will have a science fair gallery walk where students will demonstrate their ability not only to conduct an experiment but to also demonstrate an understanding of the steps of the scientific method. I also need resources for math in order to prepare my students for state testing. These resources will give my students the success they need in order to demonstrate their abilities and what they have learned throughout the year. Thank you so much!
