This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My sixth grade students are energetic, positive, enthusiastic and love to be creative! They are so excited to create their own "museums" of ancient Sub-Saharan Africa art, artifacts, and history.

With a focus on equity, I want to continue to foster my students' enthusiasm and love for learning by providing them with the best materials I can for one of our biggest projects of the year!

More than 75% of our student population lives at or below the poverty line and can't be expected to purchase project supplies.

The tri-fold boards I am asking for are the classic project we all used in school for many a science project, history project, etc. I would even venture to say that some of us still have some of these boards hanging around because we were so proud of the work we did on them. I want to provide that opportunity for my students to have that memory with this project and not feel like they are missing out or their project won't be as good as others because they don't have boards.
