I hope this message finds you all well. I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your generous support of the Garfield Middle School Film Program.\r\n\r\nThanks to your contributions, this has been an exciting and productive time for our students. With the addition of our new audio and visual equipment, the program has been allowed to grow and flourish. Students in both of our film classes and the after-school film club have been able to take on larger and more meaningful projects, including the completion of original film sketches and interviews, photographing multiple school events, and producing full episodes of our school news program, \"Good Morning Garfield.\" Even more projects are already in progress and the students look forward to sharing their hard work both with the Revere community and beyond! \r\n\r\nNone of this would be possible without your generosity. Film equipment is costly to acquire and maintain, and the addition of a new microphone, tripod, and camera has made a tremendous difference. These tools have given students the opportunity not only to learn the fundamentals of filmmaking, but also to collaborate creatively and take pride in producing high-quality work. Thank you again for investing in our students and helping bring their ideas to life.","fullyFundedDate":1760659983698,"projectUrl":"project/calling-all-producers-help-student-film/9759297/","projectTitle":"Calling All Producers: Help Student Filmmakers Make Movie Magic","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Trudel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4191390_orig.jpg?crop=576,576,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723599240815","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4191390"},{"teacherId":4006853,"projectId":9745637,"letterContent":"As the donated items have been arriving at school, students have been excited for our next School Store when they can purchase these new prizes like soccer balls, ID lanyards, arts and crafts activities, and Squishmallow stuffed animals. \r\n\r\nThese donations will bring so many smiles to our students' faces, and their joy is thanks to your generosity. \r\n\r\nAs teachers, we truly appreciate your help in providing these incentives for our students, and for encouraging them to be supportive, hardworking, responsible, and kind so they can earn as many \"Garfield Bucks\" as possible for the store. \r\n\r\nThanks to the Donors Choose community, we are able to provide so much more than we could have alone. Students earn school store Garfield Bucks for completing tasks like contributing to class discussions, helping classmates, and completing extra credit assignments. On a recent Friday, a student who had been struggling with math, proudly used his earned bucks to purchase a Rubik's Cube. He spent advisory time to try to solve it. Seeing his focused determination and the spark of accomplishment when he finally solved a side was a truly rewarding moment. It demonstrated how the incentive program could motivate even struggling students. The tangible reward system directly links positive behavior and academic achievement to desirable items, fostering a sense of accomplishment and encouraging consistent effort. Students are more likely to be engaged when they see a direct correlation between their actions and the ability to purchase sought-after items like squishy toys, fidgets, or even gift cards. This system transforms abstract concepts like \"good behavior\" into concrete, attainable goals, making them more meaningful for students.\r\n\r\nBeyond behavioral changes, the school store also cultivates a sense of financial literacy and responsible spending. Students learn to prioritize their desires, budgeting their earned \"money\" to purchase items they truly value. I have seen students save their Garfield Bucks for a more expensive item or only budget themselves to spend 15 Garfield Bucks a week. The variety of items available, from basic school supplies to more coveted items like science kits or sports equipment, allows students to make choices based on their individual needs and interests. One students was especially excited to use his National Geographic science kit. The mystery bags, raffles, and auctions add an element of excitement and chance, teaching students about risk and reward. Furthermore, the inclusion of practical items like water bottles, school supplies, and stationary items reinforces the importance of preparedness and organization, while the arts and crafts sets and games encourage creativity and social interaction. We couldn't have achieved this without your contribution. We hope you will consider supporting us next year as well.","fullyFundedDate":1735657745006,"projectUrl":"project/invest-in-a-brighter-future-support-our/8967204/","projectTitle":"Invest in a Brighter Future: Support Our School Store","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. He","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8836272_orig.png?crop=765,765,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667936737673","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-rosyhe"},{"teacherId":9688177,"projectId":8718632,"letterContent":"Thank you so, so much for helping me to add diversity to my classroom as well as emotional outlets.
