Help me give my students the necessary equipment we need to run our video game design class and to compete in the Wisconsin High School Esports Association.
The Sturgeon Bay Esports Club (SBEC) has been active since 2020. Our video game club has four main goals.
#1 - Making learning fun through purposeful play.
#2 - Create a safe playing space for all students.
#3 - Provide students a chance to compete
#4 - Develop skills related to the esports career clusters.
We offer a wide variety of gaming opportunities for students. Our casual video game club is open four days a week during lunch. We have a sixth-grade STEM class that focuses on the Esports career clusters and teaching students how to make video games. This past fall, we entered the competitive video game realm, offering students the chance to compete in Super Smash Bros, Rocket League, Mario Kart, Brawlhalla, Fortnite, and several other video games.
This project will help support all three phases of our video game club. The extra controllers will allow more students to compete on our esports team and lunchtime video game club. The rolling tables will replace our current classroom tables, allowing me to reconfigure the classroom to accommodate more students quickly and giving us the flexibility to move our equipment to the gym when we host community events.
