Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in grades ninth through twelfth. We are a small, public school that has a hometown feel to it. Our team consists of thirteen very motivated young ladies, and two very athletic and energetic young men.

These athletes report to three practices a week -- two at 6 o'clock in the morning.

In addition to their grueling practices, the team has to keep passing grades, participate in a community service, and attend extra-curricular events to promote school spirit.

My team needs these stunt training stands to improve, as well as introduce, various techniques needed to compete in state competition.

My Project

I coach the varsity cheerleaders at our high school. This team competes for advancement to the state competition.

Games are used to practice for the state finals.

The team uses the school's teams (volleyball, basketball, football, and soccer) to practice routines that will be performed at state competition towards the end of the school year.

These stunt stands offer balance and flexibility training, safely on the ground. I have at least four freshmen that are new to stunting and these stunt stands will alleviate much of their anxiety about falling. With the fear of falling the team can focus on the technique of stunting.
