My Project

My fourth graders are a vibrant, curious, and hardworking group of explorers. They are at an age where they are developing deep interests in complex stories and challenging new concepts. However, spending the entire day in a hard plastic chair at a desk can be a barrier to true focus.

My students thrive when they feel safe, comfortable, and "at home" in our classroom.

They deserve a space that reflects the importance of the work they do every day. This project will create a calming, study corner.

The rug defines the area as a quiet or collaborate space. The floor lamps with warm lighting allow us to turn down the harsh overhead fluorescents, creating a calm atmosphere conducive to deep focus. The comfy seats will allow students to sustain their stamina during independent reading and writing blocks.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
