Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are hardworking, and their families care a lot about their success. They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds in Houston, TX with almost every student qualifying for free or reduced-cost lunch. Over 90 percent of the students are Hispanic, and many of them will be the first person in their families to graduate from college.

My students are inspired to continue their education in a health science occupation.

Our health science programs serve students from grades 9-12. The programs offer practical experience and mentorship. The mentorship provides the students with support, helpful information, and guidance. Our goal is to supply our students with life skills that can help drive them to success in and out of high school.

My Project

We currently do not have enough resources on our campus to help prepare them for their end-of-year certification exam. I would like to stock up our classroom library with many different books and study guides to help my students review the material we have or will be covering in class.

These resources will allow them to study and prepare for their upcoming pharmacy certification exam.

These materials will be used in student groups and small group instruction to help my students understand any misconceptions that they may have about what we have covered in a class all year. Please help support our future health care workers!
