This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Last school year, 2020-2021, our staff identified 3,335 homeless students. This is 37% of our district! All of our students automatically qualify for free or reduced-price lunch due to the economic status of our community. Many of our parents are employed as field workers, where paychecks can be small or sporadic, especially in winter when there is not as much work. More than half of my class speaks English as their second language, and some have special needs. With that being said, they all love to come to school and want to learn. They deserve all the resources we can give to help them to be successful in school.
My Project
This year I am teaching my Kindergarteners virtually. This is an exciting, but challenging, adventure. I've spent the first 4 days getting to know my new students and they are absolutely amazing!
They are bright, funny, enthusiastic, and eager to learn!
In order to help them reach their full potential, I would like a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers. These resources will allow my students further, individual learning opportunities through the amazing resources on Teachers Pay Teachers. Each student will be able to work on the same material and I will be able to provide them with endless age-appropriate resources for both in-person and virtual learning. TeachersPayTeachers has a variety of items that cover many of the Kindergarten standards. From math to science to social-emotional learning lessons, I can find it all! There are also reviews on items so that I can see if other teachers found the item to be helpful in their classroom.
Thank you for learning more about our project and it's importance to our growth this year.
