Students' Work Off the Wall! Bulletin Boards Needed
My students need bulletin boards to exhibit their beautiful work and share their learning with our school community. These bulletin boards will help build their confidence and have a positive impact on our learning environment.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Oh it's delightful to have ambitions", ruminates Anne Shirley of Green Gables. "I'm so glad I have such a lot. And there never seems to be any end to them -- that's the best of it." These words magnificently capture the spirit, levels of curiosity, and enthusiasm of my first grade class.
My students continually impress me with their fearlessness in expressing their ideas and inquiring about the world around them.
They are budding readers, thinkers, and problem solvers in need of resources to cultivate and encourage their learning and interests.
I teach in a high poverty urban district in Connecticut that lacks funding for resources and supplies needed in our classroom. My students come from many different backgrounds, bestowing a diverse community of learners. Throughout the day my students engage in a variety of learning modalities that can best meet their needs to be successful. They enjoy working together in small groups, and sometimes independently. They love to share and read books. When presented with challenging questions or problems, my students embrace the tasks with enthusiasm and curiosity. It brings me joy to watch them work in teams to find and share solutions.
My Project
My first graders need bulletin boards in and outside of our classroom to showcase their outstanding work and creativity. They take great pride in their work and exhibit wide-eyed joy when they see their photos or written projects hanging on the walls. Families, friends, and the school community always enjoy stopping by to see all the wonderful learning that is taking place in our classroom home.
Currently, I use tape or putty-like adhesives to hang student work on the walls inside and outside of our classroom.
Not only does this take up a lot of time when putting work up and taking work down, but it almost never stays up. Every morning as I walk into my classroom, I am greeted with papers that have fallen from the walls or card stock that is slipping off its adhesive.
Bulletin boards will help prevent student work from getting lost or destroyed. They will enhance our classroom and school community, serving as a tool to capture and acknowledge the remarkable and varied personalities that make up my first grade family.
