My first graders need bulletin boards in and outside of our classroom to showcase their outstanding work and creativity. They take great pride in their work and exhibit wide-eyed joy when they see their photos or written projects hanging on the walls. Families, friends, and the school community always enjoy stopping by to see all the wonderful learning that is taking place in our classroom home. Currently, I use tape or putty-like adhesives to hang student work on the walls inside and outside of our classroom. Not only does this take up a lot of time when putting work up and taking work down, but it almost never stays up. Every morning as I walk into my classroom, I am greeted with papers that have fallen from the walls or card stock that is slipping off its adhesive. Bulletin boards will help prevent student work from getting lost or destroyed. They will enhance our classroom and school community, serving as a tool to capture and acknowledge the remarkable and varied personalities that make up my first grade family.
