Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach kids with intellectual disabilities in a self-contained classroom at a Title I school.

My kids are loving, kind, work hard, and I like to throw them a little Christmas party with cupcakes and small gift bags always containing books to take home and read with their families.

The books this year are guaranteed to brighten Christmas for my students.

Who doesn’t love Santa’s Lost Reindeer and I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas are joyful and remind us that Christmas is a time of magic and celebration and joy.

I love both of these books and can’t wait to share them with my students in gift bags with stickers and notepads.

These books will go home with my students to ensure they begin a library of their own at home.

I always ask the parents if it’s ok and if they don’t celebrate Christmas, I ask if I can do a winter bag instead.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
