Students Tell Their Story Through Art

Help me give my students the opportunity to express themselves as artists and tell their personal stories. By helping to purchase Gelli Plates my students will be able to create monoprints that they can use in their collage.

My Students

My students are creative and innovative. They continually want to learn and strive as artists. The last two years during covid my students have found the arts to be a solace and refuge from the uneasiness of the world.

They consistently endeavor to excel in visual arts at home, in the classroom, and even when art was on a cart.

The students have learned at home things like weaving, printmaking, and water coloring. They have adapted to Covid protocols with art on a cart and limited supplies. My students continue to amaze me with their enthusiasm for the arts. These kids are resilient learners!

My Project

Students will share their stories about who they are, each grade level will have a project that differs in medium with the same goal, to tell their story. Students will explore who they are and what makes them who they are and share that in an original art piece.

We will use crayons, paint, other materials, and books to explore how artists share who they are in their artwork.

Students in younger grades will share what they love by painting a piece of art. Middle grade students will explore their history and create a collage using a variety of mediums including Gelli plates. Upper grade students will share a story of what helped them become who they are. Then they will create their own artwork with their choice of medium.
